Part One : Joseph Alphonse
Choquette
and his family
Sunday, December 4, 2000, 9:30 am: Jeanne Choquette, Webmaster, met with Marcel Choquette, 89 years old, at his Laval apartment in Quebec. In his words, he had "an hour and a half to devote to our meeting". His wife, Jeannette Lachapelle, and his son, Roger Choquette were also present. Three hours went by unnoticed! Jeanne left with a number of anecdotes, lots of laughs, and most importantly, digitized photographs reproduced on this site with Marcel's permission. Thank you Marcel for these precious moments! Marcel Choquette's grandparents were Louis Choquet and Marie Celina Beauchemin. They lived in Varennes, were married in 1866, and conceived 14 children! Three of their daughters became nuns; two of them are shown below (Alphonsine and Zephirine). Joseph Alphonse, Marcel's father, married Marie Gagnon on April 23, 1907 in Montreal. |
