Part One : The Grandparents' Generation
On a nice Fall afternoon, October 9, 2000, we visited Michelle Choquette in Anjou, Quebec. She kindly opened up her treasure chest and photo albums for us. We are proud to share the following excerpts with you. Michelle is Louis-Philippe Choquet's grand-daughter. Born in Varennes on February 1st, 1878, he eventually owned a grocery store in Montreal. The family profession was carried down to his son Gerard, Michelle's father, who subsequently became a grocer and a butcher in St-Alphonse d'Youville for over 40 years. Clicking on these photos will enable you to get a close-up. Consult Michelle's family tree to get a better idea of the family. Enjoy the album! |
